About Tagit
What is
Tagit?
Tagit is a mobile interactive solutions platform. Our vision
is to enable mobile phone users to connect to the web and interact with any
multi-media content – whether it is in print, video or multimedia form.
Hence our tag line – “Tagit Connects—Whatever, Wherever,
Whenever”. By creating a platform for brands and enterprises to tap
into vast networks of perpetually-connected mobile phones, Tagit offers a
direct means for businesses to interact with the mass market.
Using 2D visual and text codes, Tagit connects the physical,
mobile and digital worlds by designating ‘tags’ to brands or
enterprises. These ‘tags’ which occupy any space or media
channel, provide mobile phone users instant gratification by offering on-tap
access to information over a 2.5G, 3G or i-mode network.
Effectively, Tagit transforms the multimedia phone into a
versatile mobile infotainment machine by unlocking a vast cache of
information that is systematically classified and categorized via an
intelligent search platform. This is the true meaning of m-enablement –
empowering everybody by granting them instant access to information they need
at any place and at any time.
What is Kooltag?
Kooltag.com
is where you can create your own experience and share that with your friends
using the tags.
What is XShare?
XShare sends your optimized pictures and other files (eg. music, documents) to your friends’ phones
reliably.

What are some
of the function I can use immediately?

pad and keying in G, followed by space, followed by your query. E.g. “G New York” will give you search results on New York from Google.
You can also share your pictures and music files, eg. MIDI ringtones with your friends using XShare. Find out how here.
Getting Started
What is GPRS?
GPRS is a technology that allows your mobile phone
to transfer data. With GPRS, you can stay connected to the Internet at all
times. Unlike an Internet connection, however, you are only charged for the
amount of data transferred and the amount of time you are connected to the
Internet. This is why GPRS users are said to be “Always
connected” to the Internet.
Setting up my
phone for Tagit – Pre-installation Checklist
Check whether your phone supports GPRS. If it
does, you can call your service provider and request for GPRS to be activated
for your account.
If you have a camera phone, you need to check
whether your phone is supported by Tagit. Please check the supported phones here.
Do I need a
data plan from my carrier to use Tagit?
Yes, you'll need to contact your carrier about getting a data
plan before downloading and using Tagit for mobile.
I am prompted
with a list of connection access points. How do I select the right
GRPS/internet connection?
In
general, every network operator made available a few choices of access points
for different uses: MMS, WAP browsing and general data. Choose one that is
meant for WAP browsing / general Internet usage (Hint: look for the words
"GPRS", "data" in the name). Consult your network
operator for further details.
The appropriate access point names for the different operators
can be found on their respective websites:
AIRTEL
HUTCH
IDEA
BSNL
SPICE
How much does
Tagit cost?
Tagit for mobile is free from Tagit Pte Ltd, but carriers may
charge data service rates for downloading and using the application with a
limited or no data plan. We recommend that you contact your carrier about an
unlimited data plan, usually available for a flat monthly fee, in order to
avoid counting bytes like you do minutes.
Which phones
does Tagit support?
Tagit works with most Symbian Series 60 phones and most
Java-enabled (J2ME) mobile phones, especially those purchased within the past
year. At this time, Tagit doesn't support BREW-enabled phones (e.g. Verizon, Alltel,
U.S.
Cellular), Nextel phones, Blackberry devices or Palm devices. To see whether
the application will work on your phone, simply visit http://www.kooltag.com/tagit/downloadmain.jsp.

Tagit isn't

messages, so you may need to manually type the URL into your mobile web
browser. Please see your owner's manual for more information.
How do I
install Tagit once I've downloaded it onto my phone?
The installation process should start automatically once
you've downloaded Tagit to your phone.
For Java version: The phone will automatically start
installation process. Select a folder location ("Applications")
where the application will be installed.
I am using the Tagit Java version and I am
prompted to allow or disallow certain operations. What do I do?
When prompted for
permission to let the application "take pictures with the camera"
or "send to the Internet", you must click "YES" to ensure
the respective command goes through.
If you do not want

How should I
shoot the tags for best result?

Troubleshooting
I've
tried downloading Tagit onto my phone, but I keep seeing error messages. What
gives?
First, please visit http://www.kooltag.com/tagit/downloadmain.jsp to make sure Tagit will work
on your phone. If it does, and you continue to experience problems, please
email support@tagit.tv
I am getting error message after sending a
request to Tagit.
This
means that the image was either not captured properly or the tag submitted
was too small and your camera is unable to get a good image.
I have captured the tag but
nothing seems to be happening?
This happens when the GPRS/internet connection did not take
place. Please check if your GRPS service provider is selected properly.
(Hint: Try to connect to any URL or website from your browser)
I'm
trying to download Tagit, but my phone says it's coming from an
"unverified" or "untrusted"
source. What does this mean?
If you see an "unverified" or "untrusted source" message when downloading an
application to your phone, it means that your carrier can't figure out who
you're trying to download it from. The application will work as normal even
if your carrier can't determine its source. The software industry generally
identifies an application's "source" using a combination of digital
signatures and trusted third parties (e.g., Verisign).
But the majority of phones sold by carriers don't yet support this practice.
Tagit
isn't working like it used to. What can I do to return things to normal?
First, try quitting and restarting Tagit. Next, try turning
your phone off and on. If neither of these resolves your issue, please email support@tagit.tv
How
do I delete Tagit from my phone?
The process for uninstalling Tagit will depend on your phone.
But in general you'll need to:
·
Make sure the
Tagit application is closed.
·
Access your
mobile phone's file manager list of downloads and/or applications and
highlight "Tagit."
·
Select
"Delete," "Remove," or the like from the list of options
or settings associated with Tagit.
I
have more questions about Tagit. What can I do?
That's easy. Just contact us at support@tagit.tv
